At the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, both Jim Broadbent (Professor Horace Slughorn) and John Hurt (Mr. Ollivander) attended the premiere and photocall for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, while Clemence Poesy (Fleur Delacour) took part in a photocall for her upcoming movie Heartless.

German publisher Carlsen will release a colorful box-set of all seven Harry Potter books translated into German on September 15, 2008.  As an extra, the box-set (seen here at our galleries) will include high-quality prints of the original jacket art for all seven books created by Sabine Wilharm.

Amazon.co.uk has been updated with a number of new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie tie-ins to be released October 2 by Penguin Character Books Ltd.  The tie-ins include a Mini Sticker Book, Deluxe Gift Book, Postcard Sticker FolderSticker Book, Notebook, and Funfax (October 1).

At the 9th annual Golden Trailer Awards in Los Angeles on Thursday, this Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix TV spot won the award for "Best Animation/Family TV Spot".  It was up against TV spots for Ratatouille, Horton Hears a Who, and The Golden Compass.

Eight new Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince promotional images have surfaced on packaging for Opal Sock Yarn's Fall '08 Harry Potter wool collection.  The images include new HBP character shots of Tonks, Harry, Ron, Hedwig, Dumbledore, and Draco.

J.K. Rowling is among 13 authors who have produced original "storycards" for a charity auction.  The invite-only auction will take place June 10 at Waterstone's Piccadilly store in the U.K., and proceeds will benefit English PEN and Dyslexia Action.

J.K Rowling has been included in a list of ten mothers who have "achieved greatness in their respective careers, while simultaneously maintaining their roles as exemplary mothers." She is the only non-American to receive a spot on the Hall of Fame, being described as an honourary "Global" inductee.

Casting Call Pro is listing several actors set to play minor characters in the sixth Harry Potter film. Dean Garnham will appear as a Slytherin student, Teresa Mahoney as "Sofie" (Boardroom-Opening Scene), Lord Johnpaul Castrianni as a Death Eater, and Daniel Barnett as a Slughorn Ball Graduate.

In ASOS Magazine, Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince) talks about her first on-screen kiss with Rupert Grint, saying, "It was a bit embarrassing. Our first screen kiss was on my third day of shooting."  She continues, "It's been an amazing experience though."

Back in 2004, J.K Rowling and husband Neil Murray took legal action against Express Newspapers after a photo of their then two year old son, David, was published in Sunday Express magazines. The case has now been resolved and there will not be any further publication of the photo.
