That's wierd; Ginny started school the year after Harry, who's birthday as we all know is July 31st, which is the last day in the school qualifying year. So if Ginny's birthday is 11th August, she's only 12 days younger than Harry, otherwise she should have started school another year later. So how come in the room of requirement as the battle of Hogwarts was getting started, Molly Weasley stated that Ginny was still only 16?

No, she's a year and 12 days younger. If she was only 12 days younger, she would be in Harry's year at Hogwarts since the last day you can turn 11 and still start the same year is September 1st.
