TV Watch Online has let us know that Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will not be released in IMAX until July 29. According to IMAX:
“…IMAX® and Warner Bros. have announced the opening date for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince: The IMAX Experience. This film will open in IMAX® theaters on Wednesday, July 29, 2009. Only in IMAX® theaters will fans be able to experience scenes from the film in spectacular IMAX 3D® … Tickets will go on sales closer to the end of June and I will send out another e-mail at that time.”
The delay comes because of an IMAX/Paramount deal allowing Transformers 2 a four-week exclusive IMAX run. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince will be released in theatres on July 15.
