Reuters has published an article about the Tokyo premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Although none of the cast or crew members were present, that didn’t stop fans and Japanese celebrities from coming out in droves to attend the first of three premieres (the London premiere is Tuesday, July 7, and the US premiere is Thursday, July 9).
Thousands of fans, some dressed as wizards in long gowns with pointy hats, lined up in Tokyo to catch the sixth in the blockbuster “Harry Potter” film series on Monday, kicking off a string of such events around the world.

The BBC is reporting that Rupert Grint recently contracted a “mild bout” of swine flu and has since recovered. “He has now recovered and is looking forward to joining his fellow cast members” at the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in London on Tuesday, Grint’s publicist said.
Grint took a few days off from the filming of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows to cope with his illness, but filming was not disrupted because of his absence. According to his publicist, “Other scenes were shot in his absence which did not require his involvement and thus filming was not disrupted.” He is now back on the set.
