10 rarest ‘Harry Potter’ Funko Pop! characters (and where to get them)

Funko’s line of Harry Potter Pop! Vinyl figures are some of the most popular the company produce. New ‘Potter’ Pop! figures are unveiled multiple times per year and avid collectors will know that some of our Wizarding friends are particularly hard to get a hold of.

We’ve compiled a list of ten of the rarest figures (as of this month) and where you can find them. Happy collecting!

10. Draco Malfoy (Quidditch) (#19)

“At least the Gryffindors didn’t have to buy their way in, they got in on pure talent.”

There are two versions of Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter Pop! universe. While the standard Draco figure is relatively common, his counterpart in Quidditch robes is quite the collector’s item.

Draco Malfoy with his broom was released in 2016 and is exclusive to Hot Topic retailers. He has an approximate value of around $40, but fetches nearly double that on Amazon.

9. Bellatrix Lestrange (Azkaban) (#29)

Bellatrix Lestrange in her Azkaban gear.

Diabolical Death Eater Bellatrix Lestrange comes in at number #9 on our list. There’s two versions of Bellatrix out there to collect: the first features Lestrange in her iconic black robes, while this rarer version has the Death Eater in Azkaban gear.

Bellatrix Lestrange is valued at around $40, and is exclusive to Hot Topic retailers. She’s also available on Amazon.

8. Cedric Diggory (#20)

Cedric Diggory, the (first) Hogwarts Triwizard champion.

Next on our list is Edward Cul—, er, Cedric Diggory, in his iconic yellow-and-black Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Triwizard gear.

Cedric was released in 2016 and is exclusive to Hot Topic retailers. The Hogwarts heartthrob is valued at around $44, but fetches quite a bit more on Amazon these days.

7. Remus Lupin (As Werewolf) (#49)

Remus Lupin in his werewolf form is a hot collector’s item.

Next on our list is the first of two (well, technically three) creatures. Remus Lupin in his werewolf form is quite the Funko find. He was released in 2017 and is also exclusive to Hot Topic (bit of a pattern here) retailers.

Remus’ animal form is valued at around $45.

6. Sirius Black (Azakban) (Chase Edition) (#67)

The first rare ‘Chase Edition’ in the Harry Potter lineup is of Sirius Black.

This black and white version of Sirius Black in his Azkaban gear is the first “chase edition” in the Harry Potter series. Chase editions are rarer variations of a more common Pop! figure: in this case, a coloured version of the Marauder.

Sirius was released in 2018 and is exclusive to GameStop retailers. Chase editions are much rarer to find in the wild and consequently Sirius is valued at around $48.

5. Harry Potter (On Broom) (#31)

Harry Potter on his broom. The Golden Snitch is a cute touch.

Our protagonist is a popular guy over at Funko. There are 15 variants of the boy who lived alone. This variation has Harry in full Quidditch garb riding his broomstick, hand outstretched to capture the Golden Snitch.

Harry was released exclusively through San Diego Comic-Con in 2017 (convention figures are always in hot demand) and has an approximate price value of around $49.

4. Snape As Boggart (#52)

Riddikulus! How good is Boggart Snape in Neville’s grandmother’s clothing.

This figure is a personal favourite: Neville’s Snape-as-gran Boggart from Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. It’s such a great scene, and the detail on the Pop! is equally awesome (check out that vulture hat and handbag).

Boggart as Snape was released in 2017 exclusively through New York Comic-Con and has an approximate price value of around $49. He (it?) fetches quite a bit more on Amazon and is a favourite among collectors.

3. Moaning Myrtle (Glow In The Dark) (#61)

Moaning Myrtle doesn’t just moan, she also glows in the dark.

Moaning Myrtle is the first of the Hogwarts ghosts to appear in Pop! form (Nearly Headless Nick and the Bloody Baron complete the list thus far) and the first Harry Potter figure to glow in the dark.

Myrtle (did you know: full name Myrtle Elizabeth Warren) was released in 2018 exclusively through San Diego Comic-Con and has an approximate price value of around $50. She too is available on Amazon.

2. Minerva McGonagall (As Cat) (#66)

The penultimate Pop!: Minerva McGonagall in her animagus form.

The penultimate entry on our list is transfiguration teacher Minerva McGonagall in her animagus cat form. This Pop! was released in 2018 exclusively through Books-A-Million.

It’s an interesting figure: the standard cat mould is pretty common at Funko and there’s not a lot of unique detail in the markings. However, the exclusivity of the release means this pop has a price value of around $60 and is still a hot collector’s item.

Who’s going to be number one? Drum roll please…

1. Luna Lovegood (With Glasses) (#41)

Rare as a Wrackspurt: Luna Lovegood with her iconic spectrespecs tops the list!

Rounding the list at number one is our favourite Ravenclaw, Luna Lovegood! This variant has Luna wearing the infamous spectrespecs (anyone see any Wrackspurts?) with a gloriously detailed copy of The Quibbler in hand.

Luna was released exclusively at San Diego Comic-Con in 2017. This version of Luna has an approximate price value of $70 but can fetch upwards of a few hundred dollars on eBay and Amazon. Go Luna!

A quick note about rarity: in this article we’ve determined rarity by approximate price, release date and distribution channel (e.g. convention exclusives). We’ve also excluded multi-packs and non-standard Pop! figures (e.g. movie moments/rides).
