The BBC recently interviewed James Hannigan, the video game music composer for the last two Harry Potter games, on the challenge of writing music that does not follow conventional linear narrative, like a film might. After calling the video game player both an audience member and a participant of the game, Hannigan goes on to speak about developmental music goals:
“I like to consider issues about how the music gets used, and what the designers are trying to achieve with the game. To have a game where the music doesn’t feel like an afterthought, you have to have the music as an integral part of the game design.”

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game product manager, John Fenno, has recently given an interview in which he discusses the delay of the Half-Blood Prince film and more. The interview also includes some clips from the game.

James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter films) gave an interview discussing their involvement in the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game. They spoke of their experiences during the making of previous Harry Potter games and shed some light on what takes place behind the scenes.
